Can We Go Lower?

Well friends, here it is

Sure, September is a traditionally meager month for stock markets. But that doesn’t make the spectacle of the Fed serving up another 75 bps Rate Hike and stocks falling faster and lower than a collapsing floor any less outrageous.

Or in truth, any less watchable.

When tech companies, mortgage lenders, and the likes of Costco see their margins slimming and their shares zipping down the water slide, you know the storm’s coming.

When you hear that thunder clap, best get on out of the pool.

At least for now.

Memes of the Day

Down and Out?

When the financial news tastes like cough medicine, you don’t go right for the cotton candy. Truth be told, there’s brands of bitter that sneak some hope in through the back door.

Want a taste?

Here’s George Orwell, writing about the year he spent washing dishes in Paris and sleeping in London homeless shelters:

“It is a feeling of relief, almost of pleasure, at knowing yourself at last genuinely down and out. You have talked so often of going to the dogs — and well, here are the dogs, and you have reached them, and you can stand it. It takes off a lot of anxiety.”

And if you need a bitter, cathartic laugh:

“It’s all fun and games until someone loses an eye. Then it’s fun and games you can’t see anymore.” – James Hetfield

“You have to accept the fact that sometimes you are the pigeon, and sometimes you are the statue.” – Claude Chabrol.

“I love deadlines. I love the whooshing noise they make when they go by.”

– Douglas Adams.

“The most I can hope for is to die in a pose that confuses future archaeologists.” -Yahtzee Croshaw.

We could keep this going all day.

But in the end, even a gloomy September has its role in the hero’s journey

Here’s Howard Schultz, with no bells and whistles:

“In times of adversity and change, we really discover who we are and what we’re made of.”

That’s right, amigo.

No matter what happens, that’s exactly right.

Further and Onward

At Dare Capital, we laugh at the news like everyone else.

And when it pours, sure…we get drenched.

But the weather and the news mean zilch next to what really drives us: helping entrepreneurs kick down doors and take their journey well past the finish line.

Through it all, we build relationships…and when a new partner gets the white label funding they need, we celebrate; for us, that’s like an angel getting its wings.

If you’re done with waiting around for the stocks to rise, then give us a call about our lending solutions.

And let us tell you about the Dare client experience

You won’t regret it.
